We are a group of (U)HNWI all of which have long-standing track records in investing in private markets. The initiative was set up by Andreas Lange, who has been investing with independent sponsors for almost 20 years. SponsorCircle is supported by its legal counsel, Frank Sarfati.
Andreas founded SponsorCircle in 2014 and is involved of all aspects of its management.
He is also senior advisor for selected private market initiatives, including moonfare, an innovative FinTech platform for private market investing, and Argenthal, a French private market investment office. In 2012, prior to setting up SponsorCircle, Andreas co-founded and successfully sold an independent asset management platform for buying and building asset management boutiques. During his tenure, Andreas pioneered the development of a select number of investment strategies in private and public markets and the company’s assets under management grew to 1bn US$. His professional career began in the M&A practice at Lazard in 1999.
Andreas graduated in business (MBA) with distinction from the University of Bayreuth and in law with a scholarship (LL.M.) at the University of Muenster. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Sarfati & Associates (S&A) is European law firm engaged in banking, finance and international transactions with offices in France, Luxembourg the Netherlands. Through S&A, Frank acts as legal counsel to SponsorCircle, in which capacity he sets up and runs the organisation’s investment platform.
Frank specialises in capital market transactions and has more than twenty years’ experience as senior legal counsel with major international investment banks such as Société Générale in Paris and ABN AMRO in London, where he set up and structured the transactions of the Institutional and Corporate Clients Derivatives Desk.
Frank is registered as a lawyer in France (Barreau de Vannes) and under his home title with the Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten and the Bar of Luxembourg. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at La Sorbonne in 1986, Frank joined Linklaters in Paris and later Allen & Overy in London, before founding S&A in 2010.
